The American Legion Auxiliary proudly partners with Wreaths Across America, a national nonprofit dedicated to honoring fallen veterans by placing wreaths on their graves each December. This heartfelt initiative began in 1992 and now reaches over 3,000 cemeteries nationwide.

 

Wreaths Across America’s mission is simple yet powerful: Remember, Honor, and Teach. Remember the fallen, Honor those who serve, and Teach the next generation the value of freedom. The ALA joins thousands of volunteers each year to ensure that every veteran’s grave is decorated with a wreath to show gratitude and respect for their service.

 

By participating, the ALA continues its mission to honor and support those who served and their families. The next scheduled date for Wreaths Across America in Minnesota is December 14, 2024. Coordinate a Location: When you choose to register a location, you are responsible for organizing and managing the wreath-laying ceremony at the site with the cemetery's approval. Reach out to your local community and gain approval to participate in December. Once you have gained approval you will need to Sign Up through the WAA website. Here's the link.

Lead a Sponsorship Group: You will first need to complete the Sponsorship Group Form on the WAA website. Here is the link. You will receive a welcome email and all the information you need to start networking within your community to gather sponsorships.

Volunteer to place Wreaths: Find a location near you to help place wreaths each year. Talk with your Unit about volunteering in this beautiful activity. You can find a location online at the WAA website.
